How it all began

Since 1929

This land has a rich history, once belonging to my grandfather who used to walk his cows from the cow stalls at the Ilchester Arms pub. He was the landlord of the pub since 1929, taking over from my great-grandfather, who held the license in 1916.

Driven by my passion for the outdoors and the countryside, I decided to create a place for others to come and enjoy the stunning views of Colmers Hill and the surrounding countryside. In 2018, Ernies' was born, and we now have 8 pitches, each offering magnificent views. I've also introduced some livestock, including Jacobs sheep, ducks, and chickens, adding to the charm of the site. Fresh eggs are available daily, as long as the hens cooperate!

Additionally, being a lover of trees, I recently planted 70 native trees and 2 hedgerows on the land. This has attracted a diverse range of wildlife, from deer to foxes, enhancing the natural beauty of the area.
